Multiple Sclerosis and the Menstrosity!
If you are a woman, have you noticed that as you get older (and someone with multiple sclerosis) your period impacts you greatly? I don't know if I am just getting older or if I am noticing the change in me and my abilities with multiple sclerosis. The cramps don't seem to bother me nearly as much as the lack of certain abilities:
- ease of walking
- mobility in general
- clear-headedness
- slurring my words
About two weeks ago I noticed a big change in my multiple sclerosis symptons. It was a dramatic change, so much that I called my doctor to talk with her about a possible exacerbation. I can not take steroids temporarily due to a dog bite healing issue. So my doctor suggested IVIG. I was already to start this treatment when out of the blue I started feeling awesome today. Why? I believe because I started my period and all the trauma before it started had vanished overnight.
I walk better today, my head is clear, I am getting a lot done and I feel great in general. If I could just feel this great all of the time and if I could remember what the cause of the terrible multiple sclerosis symptoms were (I have a memory problem, too), I would be in great shape!
